Description
Dulcolax Adult Tablets are a reliable treatment for occasional constipation, providing gentle and predictable relief. Each tablet contains 5mg of bisacodyl, a stimulant laxative that works by encouraging the muscles of the bowel to contract and move stool through the colon. The gastro-resistant coating ensures that the tablet passes through the stomach without dissolving until it reaches the bowel, helping to minimise stomach discomfort. Dulcolax typically works overnight, making it a convenient solution to take at bedtime for results by morning. This product is intended for short-term use only and should be used as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. It is not suitable for weight loss purposes, and overuse can be harmful.
Adults and children over 12 years should take one to two tablets at night to produce a bowel movement the following morning. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and should not be chewed or crushed. Do not take with milk or antacids, as these may interfere with the coating of the tablet. If you are unsure how many tablets to take, always follow the advice of a pharmacist or doctor.
Each tablet contains 5mg of bisacodyl as the active ingredient. Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, maize starch, magnesium stearate, sucrose, castor oil, talc, methacrylic acid copolymer, macrogol, titanium dioxide (E171), and yellow iron oxide (E172).
This product is not suitable for children under 12 unless advised by a doctor. Dulcolax should not be used for long-term constipation without medical supervision. If you experience abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, speak to a healthcare professional before use. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to dependence, dehydration, or electrolyte imbalance. Do not use if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients or if you have intestinal obstruction or severe dehydration. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using this product.
Some users may experience abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, or discomfort due to the stimulant effect of the medication. Rarely, nausea, dizziness, or inflammation of the bowel may occur. Long-term or excessive use can cause electrolyte imbalance or dependency on laxatives. If you experience any severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, stop using the product and seek medical advice immediately.
